Our mission is to open an accessible art and photography studio in the GR area - one designed to welcome every family. We’ve met so many families who have no family photos, often because sessions are financially out of reach with medical needs taking priority, or because it feels overwhelming to work with photographers who aren’t equipped or educated to meet their child’s needs. Accessibility barriers only add to the challenge.
We believe that portraits can be incredibly meaningful and even healing. They help children and families feel seen, valued, and connected - offering a sense of identity and belonging, especially during difficult or uncertain times. Through Hopelynd, we hope to make these experiences available to every family who wants them and give them a little love back along the way because we
are one of those families.
With both founders based near Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hopelynd aims to establish its studio in the Greater Grand Rapids area. Our goal is to find a clean, welcoming space that is convenient, safe, and easily accessible—ensuring that people of all abilities from across the community can come together to create, connect, and celebrate.

Since August 2025, these numbers reflect the impact taking place through Hopelynd. Each one represents a person with a disability who has been seen, supported, and celebrated, along with the families who walk beside them. We share these numbers so you can see the difference your support makes and how it fuels opportunities, confidence, and belonging for every participant.

Becoming a mother is always a life-changing journey, but knowing I was expecting a child with disabilities brought emotions that were deeper, more complex, and more powerful than I could have ever imagined. Seeing the photos from that time—when I was carrying Natalie—reminds me of both the uncertainty and the incredible love that began long before she was born.
After her birth, those emotions transformed. The fear turned into strength, the questions into advocacy, and the challenges into lessons in resilience. Every smile, every milestone, and every hurdle has shaped me into not just a mother, but a stronger, more compassionate woman.
Looking back, the photos from before and after are more than memories—they’re proof of growth, of hope, and of the extraordinary bond I share with my daughter. I am so incredibly thankful and grateful to have special moments that have documented our journey!
