A Disability-Inclusive Art Show for Young Artists

VALUE

Value

Welcome to "             "

Value is our annual pop-up art show and silent auction featuring artwork by children and teens under 18. This inspiring event is a celebration of youth creativity and an opportunity to uplift the voices of young artists—all of whom are living with disabilities.

You'll experience an evening filled with color, creativity, and community. The event will feature an open house gallery format, where guests can view and bid on original artwork, hear about Hopelynd and take part in a night of disability inclusion and inspiration.

In art, value refers to the lightness or darkness of color, creating depth and emotion.  At the Value by Hopelynd event, we also celebrate the deeper worth of each young artist’s creativity and the stories their work tells.

From an artist's Mom

"My experience with “Value by Hopelynd” left me feeling ecstatic for days. My son created art by putting paint on his old wheelchair wheels and moved them over a canvas, a type of printmaking. His artwork had a hole punched in the canvas to reveal layers of hearts, this represents breaking through barriers to be loved and included for who he is and how he moves. My nephew painted with his mouth, since he was born without hands. I had a former student enter drawings she made of herself painting. And I helped my friend’s son, who has quad-CP and no use of his limbs, by applying paint to his hands and using his handprints as the background to his huge smiling face. I enjoyed spending hours at this event talking to the children who made the art, talking with their parents who share similar hardships as my own family, and talking to people who support disabilities and want more representation of this amazing community.

My son left feeling very proud that his artwork sold to a complete stranger! He was thrilled to know someone saw his artwork as valuable and gave him real encouragement to his self-image. The whole night was an amazing boost to see so many people come out and support disabled artists."
