Value is our pop-up art show and silent auction featuring artwork by children and teens under 18 — all of whom are living with disabilities. You'll experience an evening filled with color, creativity, and community in an open house gallery format where guests can view and bid on original artwork.
"In art, value refers to the lightness or darkness of color. At this event, we celebrate the deeper worth of each young artist."
— A Value by Hopelynd parent
My experience with Value by Hopelynd left me feeling ecstatic for days. My son created art by putting paint on his old wheelchair wheels and moved them over a canvas — a type of printmaking. His artwork had a hole punched in the canvas to reveal layers of hearts, representing breaking through barriers to be loved and included for who he is and how he moves.
He was thrilled to know someone saw his artwork as valuable and gave him real encouragement to his self-image. The whole night was an amazing boost to see so many people come out and support disabled artists.
